Hiring with Jackie's

With over 16 years of experience in Dunedin we make hiring a car easy!

Age/Licence Requirements

You can hire with Jackie's if you are 21+ years of age and hold a valid full driver licence. The law requires us to sight your licence when you pickup your vehicle.

No hidden fees

Jackie's has no hidden fees. Our prices are in New Zealand dollars ($) and include Goods and Services Tax (GST), unlimited kilometres and insurance.

A 200km limit per day applies for one and two day hires. Please see our fleet page for "per kilometre" charges on our cars.

Insurance and Liability

Comprehensive insurance is included in Jackie's rates. Each hire is subject to an insurance excess/deductible of $1500.

The insurance excess/deductible is held as a security bond in the form of a credit card imprint taken at the commencement of your hire.

Jackie's offers peace of mind. You can take our Collision Damage Buydown which reduces your insurance excess/deductible to $250. The Collision Damage Buydown is $15 per day.

You can take our Glass Insurance which covers damage to windows, headlights, racks and chains. The Glass Insurance is $5 per day.

The Collision Damage Buydown and Glass Insurance are offered when you pickup your vehicle.

No deposit required

Jackie's offers flexibility when paying for your hire. We do not take a deposit when you book. You simply pay in full when you pickup your vehicle.

Picking up and Dropping off Your Vehicle

Jackie's provides complimentary transfers to and from our branches and local accommodation. These are available from 8.00am to 5.00pm.

We are happy to meet you at Dunedin Airport and a fee of $30.00 applies.

No-go areas

You can drive Jackie's vehicles on any road except: Ball Hut Road (Mount Cook) and Skipper Road (Queenstown).

Baby and Booster Seats

You can hire baby and booster seats from Jackie's for $25 each per hire. Unfortunately we do not have capsules for newborn babies.

FREE Ski Racks and Snow Chains

Jackie's provides ski racks and snow chains free of charge.

FREE Maps

Jackie's provides complimentary touring maps to help you on your way.

Breakdown Service

We have our own freephone number to provide assistance should you encounter problems while travelling around New Zealand.

Special Requests

Jackie's will note any requests for vehicle models or body styles and we will do our best to provide such a vehicle. You may be upgraded.
